SALVATION ARMY

MISSION:

The Salvation Army is an evangelical part of the universal Christian church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its message is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination. We offer other services on a limited basis depending on need and funding availability.

AGENCY SELF-DESCRIPTION:

Vouchers available to our Thrift Store for people in need to choose two changes of clothing, including shoes. We assist with household items such as utensils, towels and blankets. Furniture only in an emergency, such as house fire or flood. Youth programs available on Thursday afternoons from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. for children ages 6 to 18. Call for more information. Computer lab with 12 new workstations available 8 a.m. to noon with computer classes (focusing on job and basic computer skills) every Monday through Friday (schedules available in the Social Services office or by the computer classroom). We assist with utilities through the SHARE program from our offices in Prescott. Breakfast served Monday through Friday at 8 a.m., with a sack lunch provided on Monday only. Food boxes are available on an emergency basis. A doctor is available at no cost, on a first-come, first-served basis every Monday morning (arrive no later than 8 a.m.). Showers are available from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., Monday through Friday.
