PRESCOTT VALLEY PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT

MISSION:

To build a greater, more wholesome and enriching community together through people, parks and programs dedicated to the core values of creativity, excellence, integrity and service.

AGENCY SELF-DESCRIPTION:

This mission is achieved by partnering with all segments of the community to provide innovative and high-value parks, facilities, programs and services that promote and engage a healthy community. The Prescott Valley Parks and Recreation Department serves an estimated population of 38,958 residents within 23 parks sites totaling nearly 300 acres. Its amenities include 31 combination athletic fields; 30 picnic pavilions; an outdoor aquatic facility with state of the art splash pad; a combination bike/skate park; a community dog park; award winning outdoor amphitheater; two community centers (one in partnership with the Central Arizona Senior Association and the other with the Boys and Girls Club); dozens of annual special events; and numerous recreational and educational programs and services.

Participants are encouraged to visit the Town’s Web site (www.pvaz.net) to view the department’s electronic brochure throughout the year to learn of its varied activities that range from the arts, to athletics, and community and outdoor educational opportunities.
